Bi/o & con/tact

Lucy Valentine is a twenty five year old jack of all trades originally from New York City. They have been creating since age twelve and currently specialize in performance poetry, voice, and beat-making, but are also well versed in the worlds of marketing, event planning, and community organizing.

From their new home in Kalamazoo, MI Lucy makes art for the hermit, the debilitated, the unheard. They break the silence in poetry and music.

Before moving east Lucy often performed throughout the Twin Cities, MN at venues like the Aster Cafe(SoulTools Artist Showcase, June 2015), Triple Rock Social Club (Hot Mess Party, April 2015), and McNally Smith College of Music. Lucy was a 2015 20% Theatre Company Q-STAGE series grant recipient, which resulted in their first performance piece, Mark: Un-gendered, Intra Black, and Overtly Emotive. They wrote, directed, and starred in the 60-minute piece.

Lucy’s current focus is on developing their community of supporters via Patreon and taking time to enter a new era of their writing and music. They also seek to produce print copies of their play MARK_ later this year.
